When did you become interested in photography?
I have always been around photography all my life. I had two uncles that were photographers. When I was 25 I was given James Natchways "Inferno" and it blew my mind. I picked up a camera and it just felt right and from that day on I knew I wanted to be a photographer. It was Dahame's "Porn Art" and Tony Ward's "Obsession" that lead me to shoot nudes.
Do you have your own studio or are you working on location?
My house is my studio, it's sort of designed like a loft and it has a lot of natural light. The only problem with shooting at your house is you get kinda bored with it. You can only change things around so much. I will have a studio by the end of the year. I'm also big fan of shooting in Hotels and Motels.
Do you have assistance or are you working alone?
I work alone. I'm selfish that way. I like it to be just me and the model when I shoot. I think it's better for the model that there aren't a pair of extra eyes staring at her. I am planning some large scale shoots soon so I will need a extra pair of hands.
Was It easy to find models when you started photographing nude?
Yes one word Craigslist. My first nude/toy shoot model I got from Craigslist. I get a lot of my models now from Model Mayhem. But for my more hardcore stuff, I still use Craigslist.
What do you prefer: digital or analog?
I prefer film. I love the smell of film. Film makes me think about my shots because only have so many exposure on a roll of film. I'm using digital more right now because I suck at lighting and I need the instant feedback that digital gives you.
Do you have other artist(s) who you admire and inspire you?
Wow good question. Photographer's that I admire: Tony Ward, Dahame, Marc Baptiste, James Natchway, Steve Diet Goode there are to many to list. I am inspired by all the photographers here on Erographic. I know that sounds corny but it's true.
What is number one on you wishlist?
I want to become a more confident photographer. I am always second guessing myself. I am a nervous wreck before a shoot. I want to know what I'm doing instead of getting lucky. Then after that I guess I would love to shoot Aria Giovanni. Can someone hook that up for me?
